Descriptif du poste

The Immigration Compliance Lead will be part of the Employment Law team which sits within the Legal Group. Employment Law is responsible and accountable for Accenture’s immigration compliance program and provides legal advice regarding immigration issues.  We work with counterparts and stakeholders in the Legal Group, Mobility, Human Resources, and client delivery areas to compliantly provide necessary immigration related services.  An immigration lawyer is an expert in immigration law as well as relevant employment related laws such as minimum wages and working requirements for visa holders. The Immigration Compliance Lead will report to the Managing Director -- Global Immigration Law and be responsible for the Accenture’s legal compliance program for immigration which includes design and implementation of trainings, communications, and other activities focused on enhancing the culture of compliance pertaining to employee mobility.  The Immigration Compliance Lead will also analyze compliance metrics and incidents and identify opportunities for compliance improvements.  Moreover, the Immigration Compliance Lead will supervise on a day to day basis the Regional Immigration Law Leads for Europe and Growth Markets and lead collaboration efforts regarding common issues, best practices, and policy interpretations.  In addition to the programmatic aspects of the role, the Immigration Compliance Lead will also serve as the immigration legal advisor for GALIA. The Senior Manager must demonstrate leadership ability, exhibit clear commitment to compliance, as well as have the business acumen to work with Accenture’s internal teams and senior leaders.The role will:

  • Design and implement trainings, communications, and other activities focused on enhancing the culture of compliance pertaining to employee mobility
  • Analyze compliance metrics and incidents and identify opportunities for compliance improvements
  • Coordinate and lead the collaboration with immigration attorneys across the globe regarding common issues, best practices, and policy interpretations and provide guidance to more junior attorneys as needed.
  • It is expected that approximately 40% of the role will also be serving as the immigration legal advisor for the GALIA region. 
  • Monitor and interpret immigration regulatory changes for the GALIA region, advise on the impact to Accenture, and help devise and implement responsive policy/practice modifications.
  • Make recommendations on, and escalate material immigration law issues to, the Managing Director – Employment Law and Immigration, the local Market Employment Law leads and other stakeholders.
  • For the GALIA region, legal support in the event of an audit and coordinate immigration risk reviews as needed. Contribute to development of internal guidelines, toolkits, and packaged knowledge on legal and business issues around immigration compliance.
  • Foster seamless integration and teaming relationships with Mobility, Controllership, Finance, HR, tax, Mergers and Acquisitions, and other areas within Legal

Profil recherché

Qualifications:Education:   University degree or equivalent higher education qualificationLegal education and applicable licensureWork Experience: -- 5+ years advising/supporting high volume immigration programs at a law firm or a large multinational corporation required.-- Experience with compliance program design and implementation-- Experience in global immigration preferredWork Requirements:                                             

  • None – possible need to travel intermittently (less than 5% travel)

  • Excellent English language oral and written communication skills

  • Vendor management experience preferred
